

Ethel Walters Peters was born March 25, 1932 in a farm house in Chambers County on the banks of Cedar Bayou. She passed from this life on September 30, 2013 at the age of 81 years. She was the fifth of seven children. She was a life long resident of the Cedar Bayou area and a charter member of the Pruitt and Lobit Street Church of Christ, and was a 1950 graduate of Cedar Bayou High School. She married John Robert (Johnny Bob) Peters on September 2, 1950 and began her career as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always had time for her family whether it was to play, to counsel, to make them laugh, or just listen or provide a shoulder to lean on. She was a fighter, always displaying a positive attitude and un-wavering spirit, and brought her enthusiasm to any endeavor she was involved with. Her life served as a living example to her love of family and the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years John Robert Peters, her parents June and Dora Walters, bothers J.D. , Floyd, and LeRoy Walters, and sister Lillian Bayliss.
She is survived by one son Robert (Dan) Peters, one daughter Cynthia (Cyndi) Capps, daughter-in-law Wanda Bordelon Peters, son-in-law Edward (Ted) Capp, grand children Stephanie Friedl, Andrew and Emily Peters, Amanda Peters, one great grand child Carson Peters, and two sisters Thelma Campbell and Alma Williamson.
