Eula Mae Tharp

Eula Mae Tharp, 91, of Cypress, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 15, 2013. Eula was born on June 6, 1921 in Seminole, OK to Florence and Oliver McCanless. She was married on January, 1, 1939 to Garl “Shorty” Tharp. Eula was also the owner of Mae’s Bayway Beauty Shop for more than 25 years. She was also an active member of Wooster Baptist Church for more than 30 years. She enjoyed traveling extensively with the San Jac Wheelers RV Club. Eula eventually relocated to Cypress, TX in 1995 after living in Baytown for about 50 years. She resided with her grand-daughter and family for the last 4 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Shorty Tharp, and son, Garl Gene Tharp.

She is survived by her grand-daughter, Tawnya Mitchell and husband Clint; grandsons, Garl S. Tharp, II, Joseph Andrew Tharp, and Douglas Gene Tharp; great-grandsons, Jacob Owen Mitchell and Zachary Andrew Mitchell; and numerous family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Life Point Hospice will be appreciated.
