Eva was a loving mother, sister, wife, daughter, and grandmother but most importantly she was a Devout Christian. Eva’s love for the Lord knew no limits and she was a faithful servant throughout her days on earth. She often rejoiced in singing hymns, especially to the children. She loved to be surrounded by the laughter of children. For many years she volunteered at the church vacation bible school, and the church pantry.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Josefa “Josephine” Ybarra Avalos and Florenzo Caldera Avalos; the love of her life, her husband Billy Charles Carney; sons Billy Edward Carney and Jesse Avalos; grandson Billy Wilson Charles Carney; her siblings Jack, infant Raymond, Theodora, Alex, Joe, Robert, Johnny, Diana, Delia, and Rose.
Eva is survived by sisters: Annie, Janie, Terri, Lupe, Stella, Lucy, and Patsy; sons Raymond Avalos, James Carney (Carol), Danny W Carney, Sr. (Darla), Rudy Carney (Lupe); daughters Carolina Aleman and Janice Lucy Carney; grandchildren Lucy, Danny, Alvin, Faith, Christian, Eva, Kimberlee, Christopher, Edward, Taylor, Isadore, Delores, Crystal; 34 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521, with the funeral service to begin at 10 am.
Committal will follow at 3 pm, at McKnight Cemetery, CO RD 975, in Cushing, TX 75760.
