Evelyn Spears Merrill

Evelyn Spears Merrill, 89, of Baytown was born February 18, 1924 in Merryville, LA and passed away Friday, June 7, 2013. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a great mom. She loved all music and loved to dance. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Mattie Droddy; husband, Thomas D. Spears; daughter, Debbie Carr; and son, Sidney ""Buddy"" Spears. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Spears and Peggy Ball and husband, Paul and sons, Dwayne Spears and Ken Spears and Wife, Shana, all of Baytown; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Felton and Bobbie and Don Schaffer, all of Oakdale, LA; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 6227 N. Main St, Baytown, TX 77521 with Rev. Tommy Clements officiating. At her request, her body was cremated.

Her family would like to say a special ""thank you"" to the staff of Faith Community Hospice, St. James House of Baytown; and our special friend, Kathy Freeman.
