She was born near the banks of the river in Old River, TX on September 22nd, 1927 to Clarence Porter and Veatrice Henry Porter.
Fay served as the drum major for Barber's Hill Highschool band, and graduated in 1947. She then went on to Business school in Houston and began her career in accounting. She worked for Citizens National Bank in Baytown for 20 years and then for Dayton State Bank for 20 before retiring.
She was the most wonderful loving mom that anyone could have. Her smile was ever present and shared with everyone she met. She was a beloved member of Old River Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, watching the Houston Astros, reading, socializing, playing 42, and had fond memories of dancing, listening to big band music, and going on roadtrips with her husband Virgil in the travel trailer. She acquired several nick-names over the years including: "Old River," "My Rokus," "Sweet Pea," and "Nana."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Porter and Veatrice Henry Porter, and her sisters, Ida May Porter Orms and Danna Ree Porter Holman.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil Hudgins, of 72 years, her son Jimmy Hudgins, grandchildren, Matthew Hudgins and Hailey Hudgins Rhodes, and great grandson, Jadon Rhodes

Visitation will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on April 18, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location from 2:00 pm. A Graveside Service will take place at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on April 18, 2026, from 3:30 pm.
