

Fay Evelyn Scarborough, 91, one of God’s true angels, passed away June 4, 2005 at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a volunteer at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital until she turned 80. She taught Sunday School to the 4-year-olds at Memorial Baptist, where she was a member for many years. She also served with the W.M. U.
She was born in Saratoga, TX September 8, 1914. She married the love of her life, Harold Scarborough, June 30, 1935. They shared 69 wonderful years together until his death in 2003.
Just as her husband, Harold Scarborough was a generous friend to the community, she was generous and was always willing to help a friend in need.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Scarborough; Parents, Osborn and Frances Adams; granddaughter, Allison Phillips.
She is survived by her children, Harold Lynn Scarborough and wife Ginger, Sharon Phillips and husband Jack; grandchildren Scott Scarborough and wife Karen, Kristen Gee and husband Kyle, Jason Phillips and wife Geena; great grandchildren, Spencer Scarborough, Justin Broussard, Lindsey Gee, Austin Gee, Britany Phillips, Charles Ryan Phillips; and special friends, Laura Fuller, Estella Kerr, Polly Haney, Jim and Janet Anderson, and Beulah Angel Goodman.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Scarborough’s caregivers, Mely Camacho, Martha Ramos and the staff of Odyssey Hospice.
Her son, Harold Lynn would like to extend a special thanks to his daughter, Kristen, for her love and support to him and her grandmother during her illness.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday 10a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Brad Hoffman.
Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Angel, Gary Angel, Kyle Gee, Jon Gilbreath, Scott Scarborough, and Kenny Day. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Neal Angel, Glen Angel, Robert Leonard, Dr. Bob Stout, and Dr. Lawford Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Baptist Bereavement Fund.
