She was predeceased by husband Davis Stanley Painter and daughter Stancia Ruth Pemberton.
She is survived by son Tony Painter and daughters Linda Shaw, Kathy Schmitt, and Fern Barchus as well as some wonderful grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
Her father was a Swedish sailing captain whose memory she cherished all of her life. She spiced her language with sailing terms and sayings learned as a little girl.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
