

Floyd Ciruti, 89, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at a Houston hospital. He was born May 26, 1919 in Slidell, Louisiana to parents, Emanuel Ciruti, Sr. and Louisiana Livingston Ciruti, lived in Baytown for the last 80 years, was a retired Supervisor from the Diamond Construction Company, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and former owner of Ciruti's Grocery Store.
Mr. Ciruti was a devoted husband and father and he was paramount to his family. His favorite activities included watching his children and grandchildren in their many activities, having everyone over to his house for the Four O'clock Coffee with friends and family, attending Wharton High School Tigers baseball that his son coached and pulling for the Astros and Rockets with the Astros being his favorite professional sports team. Floyd was also an avid fisherman and loved playing Bridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Emanuel Ciruti, Jr. and Leo Ciruti and sisters, Kathryn McNulty and Irene Lancaster. Survivors include his wife, Frances Ciruti of Baytown; sons, Floyd Ciruti, II and his wife Marguerite of Wharton and Stephen Ciruti and his wife Leisa of Baytown; daughters, Candis Bond and her husband Lonnie of Baytown and Lou LaBay and her husband Danny of Hallsville; grandsons, Charles Ciruti, Floyd James Ciruti, Josh Ciruti, David LaBay and Daniel LaBay II and his wife Jenny; granddaughters, Maribeth Armintor and her husband Chris and Simi Ciruti; great-granddaughter, Evey LaBay and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 A. M., Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Canizares officiating. Interment will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2008 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Ciruti, Floyd James Ciruti, Daniel LaBay II, David LaBay, Sam Wells, Joe Wells, Danny LaBay, and Lonnie Bond. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Ciruti, Roy Burnett, Gene Wells, Paul Holladay, Barry Lancaster, Haymon Sneed, Chris Armintor, Coach Marc Jones, Coach Royce Mitchell, Coach Jim Abercrombie, and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Roy and Ethel May Burnett, Doctors and nurses at East Houston Regional Hospital, Goose Creek Rehabilitations and Hearth Care Center, Stat Home Health, Father Dwight, Father Leo and numerous family and friends that was there for Floyd during his illness.
