Frances Elaine Cobb

Frances Elaine Landers Cobb, 99 years and one month old, of New Braunfels, Texas, died Friday, June 15, 2018, at Eden Hill Community Care under hospice care. Born to Licurgus Lee Landers and Cordelia Esther (Mitchell) Landers in Eldorado, IL, on Friday, May 16, 1919. Elaine lived in Eldorado, IL for 31 years, as well as in the Baytown area for 55 years, and in New Braunfels for 18 years, including the last 9 years at Eden Hill Community Care. Elain was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Thomas Landers; daughter and son-in-law Beverly Ann (Benson) McCartney and William Burl McCartney; son Norman Benson; husbands Raymond Benson, Jack Ashwood, Jim Johnson, Don Beamon, Doyle Cobb; one grandson; and two great-grandsons. She is survived by her daughter Linda Searcy and husband Joe; son Raymond “Freddie” Benson; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great grandson. Funeral services for Elaine will take place 10am Friday, June 22, 2018 at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home (3919 Garth Rd. Baytown, TX), with Elaine’s grandson, Rev. Lewis McCartney, officiating. A time of visitation will take place beginning at 9am. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery (8624 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX), immediately following the service.
