Franklin was drafted into the Army when he was around 20 years of age and served in Germany. Franklin worked as a Machinist for Thornhill Craver. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Baytown, The Lone Star Daylilly Society, and Houston Garden Club. Franklin loved and enjoyed daylillies, bowling, playing board games, dominos, and dachshunds were his favorite breed of dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katie; son, Jimmy Don; grandson, Dustin Wright; and siblings, Grace Cook, Raymond Krampota, Ruby McConnally, Evelyn Giddings, Melvin Krampota, and Charles Krampota.
Franklin is survived by daughter, Donna Wright of Houston; daughter-in-law, Darlene Krampota; step-children, DL Sims (Janna), Daymon Sims (Sallie), and Tonya Sacci (Michael); brother, Jerry Krampota (Peggy); sister-in-law, Sandra; grandchildren, Taylor Wright, Lisa Krampota, Ronda Batchelor, Dawn Flewellen (Tommy), Caleb Sims (Torie), Alyssa Tooley (Darryl), Elijah Sims, Zachary Sims (Ashley), Baylie Sims (Riley), Daniel Boyer (Cici), Renee Boyer (Jake); great-grandchildren, Noah Flewellen, Nolan Flewellen (Brooklyn), Blaire Sims, and Clark Tooley; great-great-grandchild, Blake Flewellen.
Visitation will be held from 11 am- 12 pm, Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521. Funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Sterling White Cemetery, Highlands, TX.
