Freda Lynne Rather

Freda Lynne Rather, 63, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on June 23, 2026. Born September 5, 1962, in Jackson, Mississippi, Freda will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew her.

Freda was preceded in death by her father, Fred Rather, and her grandparents Harold Hester, Claudia Martin, JT Rather, and Annie Bell Rather. She is survived by her mom, Donna Rather; her sister and brother-in-law, James and Terry Callenius; her nieces and nephews, Joshua and Joy, Shayce, Sydni and Dallin, Jr, and Colt; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Briley, Breelyn, Jayson, Ryder, Jayden, Tallon, Cove, Kade, Caroline, and Baby Milligan due in February of 2027.

In the quiet, steady ways that matter most, Freda found joy in the simple beauty of making and creating. Her love of drawing and anything crafty reflected a patient, thoughtful spirit—one that could turn time and attention into something meaningful. She also treasured the comfort of reading, and she held a special place in her heart for her pets, Mister, Sissy, and Chachi, whose companionship brought warmth to her days.

Visitation will be held at Memorial Baptist North Campus, 14120 TX-146, Dayton, TX 77535, on June 30, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be held at Palms Memorial Park, 2421 TX-146, Dayton, TX 77535, on June 30, 2026, at 12:30 .
