Frieda Kroeger

Frieda Kroeger, 89, of Houston, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, was born July 23, 1924 in Chicago, IL and passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 in a Baytown healthcare facility. She retired from Maxwell House Coffee Company. She enjoyed doing yard work and tending to her plants, travelling, and bowling, having been a member of various bowling leagues. Even after her husband Bill, who retired from the Houston Fire Department, passed away, she continued to participate in the Houston Fire Department family functions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Frieda Cherie' Schneider; brother, Emil ""Buddy"" Schneider; sisters, Marge Payne and Jeanie Schueler; and husband, Bill Kroeger. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jill ""Mi Mi"" and Nick Dawsen; grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Melissa Dawsen and Amy and Travis Jacobs; great grandchildren, Jessi and Tyler Jacobs and Mason, Dylan, and Addison Dawsen; sisters-in-law, Laura Morgan, Doris Borst, and Elaine Kroeger; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday, October 29, 2013, beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a funeral to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Norris officiating. At her request, she will be cremated afterwards and interred next to her husband Bill in the Houston National Cemetery.
