

George Ashford “Spanky” Armer Jr., 70, lifelong resident of Baytown passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2005.He was born November 7, 1934. George was a planner/scheduler for Chevron until his retirement in 1997. He was a former member of the Baytown Evening Optimist. He was a boatsman and avid fisherman and hunter.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Charles Tillman. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
Pallbearers will be Gary Armer Jr., Steven Armer, Steven Lee, Rick Lee, Justin Armer, and Cori Armer. Honorary pallbearer will be Kelly King.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Armer Sr.; mother, Alice Mae Armer; daughter-in-law, Daltrice Armer.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Teresa Armer; Children, Terry Armer Ells, Barry Armer and wife Laura, Larry Armer and wife Dianne, Ronnie Armer and wife Ronda; grandchildren, Shelby Ells, Cori Armer, Kelly King, Shawndrie Armer, Tonya Smith, Justin Armer, Emma Armer; great granddaughter, Anabel Ruiz; brother, Gary Armer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
