Chief Petty Officer George Ben King, Jr., U. S. Navy (Retired), 73, of Galveston was born October 11, 1941, in Houston and passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, in a Houston hospital. He retired from the U. S. Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and was a grill master when it came to barbecuing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mattie King. He is survived by his wife, Karen King; daughters and son-in-law, Heather and Clyde LeGaux and Racheal King; sons, Mark King and Michael King; stepdaughter, Faith Narcisse; grandchildren, Nicole LeGaux and Paris LeGaux; and lifelong partner, Lila Carter.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until 12 Noon. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery.
