Glenda Faye Herdt, 84, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. She was born on July 15, 1941, in Baytown, Texas, to the late Mary Mildred and Glenn H. Beck. Glenda attended Robert E. Lee High School. Though she did not pursue a formal career, she found purpose and joy in nurturing children.
Glenda lived a life full of warmth, joy, and unforgettable moments. She pursued many interests, including listening to music, dancing, and cooking meals that brought her family together. She especially loved the occasional trip to the beach, where she would "stick her toes in the sand." A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Glenda found great joy in traveling to attend their training camps, proudly cheering on her team. Glenda treasured the simple things in life, like playing card games with her family and trips to the casino. Among her many roles in life, the one she treasured most was caring for her granddaughter, Shelby, whom she raised with unwavering love and devotion. Glenda was truly a social butterfly. Her natural charm and warmth made it easy for her to connect with everyone she met—she never knew a stranger. With her radiant smile, sparkling eyes, and generous heart, she brought light and laughter wherever she went. She was sassy, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind—qualities that made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her. Her presence filled every room, and the love she gave freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; her dad Buddy Bynum; her spouse Walter Warren; her daughters Sheila Sylvester and Connie Sue Herdt; her son-in-laws Cris Sylvester and Dennis Parker; her grandson Joshua Herdt; her siblings Bruce Bynum, Carol Tucker, Peggy Delight Butcher, and Shirley Wright; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
