Gordon M. Laird

Gordon M. Laird, 81, of Baytown was born December 22, 1929 in Homestead, PA and passed away at home Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was a graduate of Clarion University in Clarion, PA and was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the 101st Airborne Division ""Screaming Eagles"". He retired from U. S. Steel with 30 years of service and spent his retirement enjoying time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Violetta Laird and grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Cooper and Jason Thad Cooper. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Emma Lou Laird; children and their spouses, Keith and Amy Laird, Linda and Paul Wayne Daniel, Jeffrey Gordon and Terrie Laird, Leigh Ann and Bud Chaloupka, and Laurie and Larry Cooper; grandchildren, Brodie and Naomi Cooper, Alicia and Jason Morgan, Jonathan Gordon Laird, Kolt Daniel, Katie Daniel, Lindsay Chaloupka, Jodie Chaloupka, Kyle Laird, Kenzie Laird, and Jessica and Craig Hill; and great grandchildren, Jake and Connor Hill, Timothy and Emma Cooper, Kaitlyn, Jacob, and Jordyn Morgan, and Trevor Gordon Laird.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons-in-law and grandsons.
