Grady G. Jeffrey

He grew up in Houston, was a longtime resident of Baytown and resided in Dickinson for a short time.

Grady was a member and deacon of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Goose Creek Masonic Lodge #1192. He enjoyed music, especially playing the piano, camping and socializing.

Grady was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bobbie Jeffrey; step-father, Carl Nack and sisters, Ruth Alexander and June Kalinowski.

Grady is survived by his wife, Anita Jeffrey of Baytown. His legacy includes his three children who were all blessed to be raised by a principled man who loved God, country and family, Janice ""Jan"" Jeffrey Whitaker and her husband Joel, Debbie Jeffrey Nelson and her husband Bruce all of Baytown and Jim Jeffrey & his wife Karen of Houston. He is also survived by his step-children, Linda Cottar and her husband Thomas of Baytown and, David Matthews and his wife Vickie of Corsicana; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Aleina Herman of Bayview Home Health Care, and his previous home healthcare nurse, Jan Barton, A-Med Hospice and Dr. Chris Hays.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the funeral home with Dr. E. Richard Steele and Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Joel Whitaker, Bruce Nelson, Jeff Whitaker, Seth Jeffrey, Thomas Cottar, and David Matthews. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons and Adult Six Men's Sunday School Class of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church.
