Gwendolyn Ruth Laplante

Gwen was born in Goose Creek on January 28th, 1937, the first child of C. S. (Bill) Bardin and Audra Marie Seale Bardin. She attended Cedar Bayou Schools, grades 1-11, before consolidation, and 12th grade at Robert E. Lee, graduating in 1955.

Gwen graduated from Lee College with an Associate in Business, and worked at several companies in her career, including Southwestern Bell, EDS, and Southern Sales.

Gwen spent most of her life in the Baytown area. When she married the love of her life, Eugene Laplante, in 1975, they moved back to Gene’s home state of Vermont. They returned in the 80’s and lived several places in Texas. Gene passed away in 2014. Their church home here was at Northside Baptist Church, Cedar Bayou Rd., Baytown.

Gwen is survived by children Mark Morris and wife Kathy Tullos of Austin, Michael Pullin and wife Teri Pullin of Fort Worth, Pamela Hinton and husband Greg Hinton of Odessa, Charles Bell and wife Coty Bell of Den Hoorn, the Netherlands, Nick Laplante and wife Stephanie Laplante of Tyler, Lowell Bell and wife Jamie Bell of Tampa, Florida, and Jeff Smith and Allison Smith of Houston, and 18 grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Joe Bardin, of Baytown.

Pallbearers will be Mark Morris, Michael Pullin, Charles Bell, Nick Laplante, Jane Tullos Morris, and Dwight Hinton.

Viewing will be at 9:00 AM and services at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 6, at Earthman Funeral Home at 3919 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521. Interment will be at Memory Gardens, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521.
