Herbert “Herb” Sharp, 77, of Baytown, passed away peacefully after a lengthy struggle with emphysema Monday February 20, 2006. He was born in Davilla, Texas on July 9, 1928. He operated a miniature golf course in Baytown for 12 years. He was an instrument supervisor for DuPont. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a past master of the Masonic Lodge #321. He was an avid football fan. His family will always cherish the memories of his sacrificial love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Sharp; brothers, John and Gene Sharp; in-laws Ernest and Effie Stoerner; brother-in-law, J.W. and Larry Stoerner.
He is survived by his wife, four days from their 55th wedding anniversary, Patricia Sharp; children, Penny Ann Garcia and husband Rudy, Candy Lynn Sharp, Cherry Jean Anderson and husband Jamie; grandson, James D. Anderson; great grandchildren, Braiden Michael Anderson, McKailey Peyton Anderson; aunt, Sofie Hill; brother-in-law Ernest Stoerner Jr. and wife Jean; sister-in-law, Barbara Sharp; and special family member Marie Pearce; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Billy Joe Tate.
At his request, his body will be cremated after a generous donation to LifeGift.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Odyssey Hospice, especially Karen Haynes and Clerissa Edwards, and Dr. Frederico Dancel.
