

Ray was born in Naker County, KY, on May 26, 1939, to Homer Paul and Leona Wilson. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on May 31, 1956, at the age of 17, and he served for seven years before being honorably discharged. He met his future wife in Lincoln, NE, and they were married on June 2, 1959. After leaving the Air Force, he worked as a civil servant in the Department of Defense for 31 years, before retiring to work full time as an evangelist for the Lord. He worked with a number of small congregations in Kentucky and Texas for many years before stepping down in 2005, from the Wallisville Road Church of Christ in Highlands, TX, due to his Alzheimer’s disease.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judy; son, Keith and his wife Nadine; daughter, Teresa and husband Greg; grandchildren, Jonathon, Rachelle, Carolyn, Travis and Kristin; sisters, Betty Toohey of Jacksonville, FL, and Freda Maddox of Phoenix, AZ; and mother-in-law, Edith Miller of Mont Belvieu, TX. He will be greatly missed by all.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
