Ida Mae Murphy

Ida Mae Murphy, 81, of Baytown, loving mother and grandmother, was born August 14, 1927 in Woodville and passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 in a local hospital. She retired from Exxon and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was also a member and past Worthy Matron of the Goose Creek Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #798.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Murphy Jr.; brothers, Charles, Pat, James and Elton Spurlock; and sister, Marguerite Quinn. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, H. Lee Murphy III of Waco and Patrick Lee and Melinda Murphy of Jefferson; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Walter McGettigan of Dublin, CA, Laura and David Smith of Baytown and Sarah and Rich Boisture of Woodbury, MN; sister, Maxine Meek of Beaumont; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Raynell Spurlock of Hillister and Danny and Shirley Murphy of La Porte; and grandchildren, Kristen Smith, Kelsey Smith, Kyrie Boisture, Savannah Murphy, Trevor Murphy, Katelyn Boisture, Tanner Murphy, Matthew McGettigan and Shannon McGettigan;

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Navarre Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Brad Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville.
