Dolly spent most of her younger years in Bay City, Texas, until she and her family made the move to Crosby, Texas.
This is where she met and fell in love with James “Buster” Adlong. After a brief courtship, they married on August 20, 1958 and settled in Crosby to start their family. God must really have a sense of humor because he blessed them with 5 beautiful girls. Dolly and Buster were married for 51 wonderful years before his passing.
Over the years, Dolly has had many occupations; from being the local seamstress, head cashier at Globe, working a Michalsky’s Grocery Store, to becoming a nanny. She even made shirts for country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Dolly truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She loved working puzzles of all kinds, reading, sewing, playing Yatzhee, canning, singing gospel songs, and going to the casino. She loved to joke around and have a good time with her family and friends.
Dolly is survived by her children, Gladys (Richard) Dannelly, Kathy (Jeff-deceased) McDonald, Pamala (Charlie) Lemley, and Susan (Tracy) Henry; her grandchildren, Leslie (Jim) Robbins, James (Jamie) Barnett, Lisa Barnett, Kelly (Joel) Donawa, Amanda (Jesus) Murillo, Jessica McDonald, Edward Garcia II, and Jeffery (Tara) McDonald; her brothers, Robert (Josie) Fischer, Richard (Margie) Fischer, Donald (Becky) Ault, and Bobby Stephens; her sisters, Irene (Mike) White , Carla (Dick) Smith and Charlotte Brown; 18 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way; and many more family and friends.
