

Ina Mae Hamrick Jones, 95, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016, after a long battle with dementia and Alzheimer's. Ina Mae was born on December 17, 1920, in Mineola, Texas, to Grover Cleveland Hamrick and Beulah Mae Stephenson Hamrick. She was one of four children.
In 1938 she graduated from Lee High School before attending Massey Business School in Houston.
Little did she know that on July 3, 1945, she would reconnect with a handsome high school classmate at a local Elks Lodge dance, and that they would be married 6 weeks later on August 25, 1945. She and Dr. W.T. Jones Jr. were married for 70 years.
During their marriage, she was a constant supporter and bookkeeper of her husband's medical practice and many business ventures.
She was a member of the Goose Creek Country Club, a participant in two bridge clubs at the same time, and an avid gardener. She spent many hours in her flower garden. She was also a past member of Baytown First Christian Church and The Worship Place in Georgetown, Texas, and most recently a member of Baytown Faith Presbyterian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary McCoy and Mildred Gault and her brother, George Cornelius ""G.C."" Hamrick.
Ina is survived by her husband of 70 years, Dr. W.T. Jones Jr.; sons, Jaro Jones and wife, Marklon and George ""Mister"" Jones and wife, Tammy of Baytown; grandchildren, Bonnie MacMillan of Edinburgh, Scotland, Jay Jones and his wife, Kara of Seattle, Washington and Shay Johnson. Great-grandchildren Katelyn Harbison of San Benito, California, Reeder and Hunter Rose Jones of Seattle, Washington.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Navarre Funeral Home at 2444 Rollingbrook Dr. Baytown, TX 77521. Per the families wishes the burial will be private.
In Lieu of usual remembrances, the family asks that donations be made to Faith Community Hospice at 4721 Garth Rd. Baytown, Texas 77521 or Faith Presbyterian Church at 3900 N. Main St. Baytown, Texas 77521.
The family would also like to thank all of the employees of Faith Community Hospice and The Waterford at Baytown Senior Living for their love and compassion during this difficult time.
