Irma Ann Fails was born April 25, 1951, in Port Arthur, Texas, and died Nov. 30, 2022, at the age of 71. She leaves behind her sister Syble Strahan, daughter Lois (Ben) Rasberry, son Dennis (Jamie) Fails, and grandchildren Danielle (Doug) Elliott, Emily Fails, Joshua Fails, Matt (Jasmin) Rasberry, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darrillo Fails, her parents Letha and Berwick LeBlanc, her brother Mitchell LeBlanc, her Granny, Irma Augustine LeBlanc.
Her fondest childhood memories were running in the woods at Rayburn with her cousin Linda and playing with Linda’s doll house. She worked at Barbers Hill ISD for 25 years and made many friends there. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting her grandchildren and attending their many activities. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting for family and Hook n’ Needle Charities with Joan Reeves, Nanette Wise-Fanjoy, and Susan Witte, and many other ladies. During the pandemic, when charity opportunities were limited, she focused her efforts on sewing hundreds of scrub caps and hair holders for the therapy department at Houston Methodist Hospital. The colorful scrub caps helped shine a light on a very dark and difficult time for the hospital staff. Still today, Star Wars, Marvel, cat, dog, and bright flower scrub caps roam the halls at HMH. In 2022 she bravely overcame the effects of a stroke to get her body stronger and her mind sharper so that she could make it back home to her cat Lacie. She returned home and spent the rest of 2022 watching the Houston Astros win their second world series, reconnect with family and friends and enjoy some home-cookin'.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
