

Irvin E. “Nig” Hill 73, of Mont Belvieu, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 in La Porte at Happy Harbor Nursing Home. He fought a long hard battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born October 17, 1933 to Ben & Ila Hill in Cove, Texas. He married his lifelong sweetheart, Marilyn Clanahan, on June 9, 1962. Nig was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved attending Barbers Hill sporting events, as well as hunting, and raising and training Quarter Horses. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He will be greatly missed by friends and family and will be remembered for his generosity and love for life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bennie Murrell. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hill of Mont Belvieu; daughters, Lori May and husband Benny of Mont Belvieu and Jennie Garner and husband Pete of Hankamer; stepsons, Donald Lawrence of Mont Belvieu and Larry Lawrence and wife Laurie of Hankamer; grandchildren, Afton and Rance May and Lacy and Lana Lawrence, all of Hankamer and Myles and Makenzi May of Mont Belvieu; and brother, Elton Hill of Baytown.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 6 to 8 pm at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown. Services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Doug Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown.
Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Lewin Barber, James Leggett, Richard Shafer, Dale Webb, Darrell Lucas and Jim Clanahan.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nursing staff at Happy Harbor Nursing Home in La Porte.
