James Joseph Carr “Joe”, 76 of Baytown, passed away peacefully early Friday morning surrounded by his loved ones at home, December 6th, 2019. He was born in Orange, Texas on December 25th, 1942 to Dixie and Walter Carr. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Sue, in 1961. They had been married for over 58 years, spending many anniversaries at Landry’s Seafood in Kemah. Joe was a devoted husband and loving father. As a father of two girls, Joe was always supportive in all their endeavors. Joe worked for Teppco for 34 years before retiring. In his retirement he spent his time mowing local properties on his beloved John Deere tractor, hunting at his deer camp in Edgerly, LA, reading novels, and making memories with his family. Joe and his wife were members of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church since 1971.
Joe is survived by his wife Mary Sue, two adoring daughters Jo Ann and husband Mark Holt of Clear Lake, Texas and Jeanna and husband Larry Padgett of Richmond, Texas and three beautiful grandchildren, Natalie and husband Tim Barfield, McKenzie and soon to be husband Owen Loock, and Tyler Padgett.
The family wants to thank Visiting Angels and Harbor Hospice for their compassion and nurturing care towards Joe in his final days. The family would also like to thank Joe and Mary Sue’s neighbors for all their hugs, delicious meals and kind words.
Visitation will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr, Baytown, TX 77521 on Monday December 9, 2019 from 5- 7 PM. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
