James enjoyed many things, some of which included his love for the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans. He was a collector of many things, some being various types of AVON bottles, John Wayne memorabilia, and Dallas Cowboys items. James was a very social person, who made friends easily. He would look forward to his birthday dinners with his family every year, at his favorite restaurant El Toro Mexican Restaurant. His greatest joy came from the time spent with his family, especially his niece and nephew, and his great nieces and nephew.
James was preceded in death his parents; his infant sister Baby Ellis; and his numerous aunts and uncles. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his brother Kenneth Ellis and wife Paula; his nephew Chris Ellis and wife Leah; his niece Kelley Peek and husband Mark; his great-nieces Kaylee and Ruby Peek, and Paisley and Harper Ellis; his great-nephew Trey Peek; his numerous cousins; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Focused Care at Burnett Bay for the love and compassion given to James during his stay.
A Graveside Service will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery, Hill County Rd 1245, Whitney, TX 76692, US, on July 28, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
