

He is preceded in death by his father, Ike Jack “Honey” Gore of Silsbee; daughter, Lisa Johnson of Orange; nephew, Rusty Gore of Silsbee.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Sherry Kelly Gore of Oak Island, TX; mother, Rosella Gore of Silsbee, TX; sisters, Lisha Thurman of Dayton, Rosie Lofton of Silsbee, Ada and Kenneth Byrum of Evadale; brother, Thomas Gore and wife Carolyn of Silsbee; daughters, Margaret and Tony Sullivan of Anahuac, Mary Gore of Orange, TX, Kelly Colley Rountree of Oak Island, TX, sons, Lloyd Gore of Dayton, TX, James Staley of Orange, TX, Johnny Elton Gore and Richard Gore of Dayton, Ronald Lee Colley of Oak Island, and Jason and Susan Colley of Baytown, 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
James had a country western band for many years. He loved to sing and play the guitar and entertained young and old alike with his music. Now he is performing his best songs for the Lord.
His family will receive friends at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Anahuac, officiated by Rev. Bob Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Charles Barrett, Johnny Gore, Jimmy Capps, Bobbie Capps, Ronald Colley, and Tommy Barrett.
