

James Melvin Johnson, 59, of Baytown was born December 17, 1955, in Pasadena and passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015, in a local hospital. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James ""the old man"" and Jennie Johnson and brothers, Joseph Wayne Johnson, Michael Hollaway, James Elvis Hollaway, and Keith Hollaway. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Johnson; son, Richard Lee Gates; daughters and son-in-law, Lola and Cordy Jackson and Melissa Michelle McLemore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Linda Hollaway, Phil Hollaway, Vernon Hollaway, and Tomothy and Angel Johnson; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Alice Hollaway and Regina Beth and Jim Krauss; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3811 N. Main St., Baytown, TX 77521, with Rev. Charles Ruehl and Rev. Raegan Seaton officiating.
