James C. ""Curt Knight

James C. ""Curt"" Knight, 81, of Baytown was born September 10, 1930 in Houston, TX and passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 in a Houston hospital. He was a member of Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church, Goose Creek Masonic Lodge #1192 and was a Wagon Master for the Spaceland Chapter #2 National United Methodist Campers. He was the founder of Grace's Kitchen, a hot meal ministry at the church and he was a charter member of Grace UMC softball team, playing until age 68. He was a U. S. Army veteran and was a longtime member and avid golfer at the Goose Creek Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H. W. and Marcia Knight; first wife of 44 years, Norma Knight; and brothers, Leonard Knight and Kenneth Knight. He is survived by his wife, Jane Knight of Baytown; children and their spouses, Melanie and Brad Hall of Houston, Melissa and Bob Fusco of Spring, Melinda and Louis H. Lowe IV of Cuero, Jim Knight of Austin, Jennifer and James Townsend of Spring, Bryan and Donna Burroughs of Baytown, and Brett and Cara Burroughs of San Antonio; brothers and sister-in-law, Gene and Betty Knight of Galena Park and Houston Knight of Pearland; and grandchildren Michael Derrett, Nick Fusco, Brandon Fusco, Louis H. Lowe V, Trevor Hall, Ryan Lowe, Ian Hall, Katie Lowe, Elizabeth Derrett, Tzvi Smith, Christian Stathopoulos, Xavier Burroughs, Ivy Grace Townsend, Ashley Novak and Kyle Burroughs.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church, 2714 Ferry Rd., Baytown, TX 77520 with Rev. Carol Turner, Rev. Ken Goodell, and Rev. Luis Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble at 2:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to Grace's Kitchen c/o Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church or to the M D Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
