Jane G'Sell Griffin

Mary Jane Griffin, 87, of Beach City, Texas, passed away on August 12, 2026, leaving behind a family she adored, countless friends, and a life filled with faith, laughter, service, and love. Jane was born November 11, 1938, in Baytown, Texas, to Ted and Lois G’Sell. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1957. In 1959 Jane married her high school sweetheart, Robert Charles “Bob” Griffin. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and friends.

Jane and Bob were a team in more ways than one. Jane played an important role in the family businesses, including IMSCO and later Griffin & Associates. She worked hard, cared deeply about people and brought the same energy to her work that she brought to the rest of her life. She greatly enjoyed playing bridge and was involved in numerous bridge clubs, garden clubs and was also a lifetime member of The Service League of Baytown. Jane was a faithful member of Missouri Street Church of Christ. She loved God, singing and being with family and friends.

Jane cherished nothing more than having all of her children and grandchildren together at their family ranch in Brownwood, Texas. She (MeMe) took great joy in watching her grandchildren grow up and rarely missed an opportunity to support them in whatever they were doing. Being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Griffin; her parents, Ted and Lois G’Sell; brother, Teddy G’Sell; sister-in-law, Monte G’Sell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law H. L. and Marcia Griffin.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rob and Lisa Griffin, Ron and Nancy Griffin, and Nancy and Kyle Cauley; Grandchildren and their spouses, Lauren and Graham Brown, Robert and Kelsey Griffin, Kelsey and Seth Mannon, Wes and Brielle Cauley, Mattie and Brian Seelig, and Riley and Jade Griffin; Great-grandchildren, Charlie, Beau and Shep Griffin, Briggs and Grace Mannon, Benjamin Brown, and the newest blessing to the family, Sutton Seelig. Jane is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Jane’s family is especially grateful to Amy Rodriguez, Laura Garza, Esther Prado and Maria Castillo for the compassionate care, loving companionship, and devotion that they gave to her. Their kindness will always hold a special place in the family’s hearts.

She loved to sing throughout her life and now her family takes comfort in knowing that her voice has simply joined a different choir.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521, with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2 p.m.
