Jeanine Helene LeJeune Daigle, aged 85, of Crosby Texas (formerly Anahuac) passed away on August 19, 2022. She was born in LaFere, (Aisne Province) France on June 21, 1937 to Maurice Jean LeJeune and Blanche Helen (nee Coulon) LeJeune. She was married first to Arvis Forbes, Jr. and became an American citizen, travelling the globe as a military wife. Later she met and was married to Dudley Daigle for 28 years.
Jeanine had a lengthy career in the Oilfield Trucking Industry, making many friends along the way. With a nikckname of “Big Red” and a no-nonsense attitude dispatching truck drivers, she was a force to be reckoned with. For most of her working life, she resided in Baytown, Texas while having a weekend residence by the Trinity River, near Liberty, Texas. Eventually she and her Dudley “do-right” settled in Anahauc. Prior to and after her retirement, she also was a businesswoman, renting cabins, as well as being the proprietor of the Turtle Bayou Landing. During those years, her pride and joy was gardening and maintaining her waterfront property on the bayou. She was an independent spirit throughout her life. She spent her last few years in Crosby, supervising the creation of a new set of gardens to enjoy. Additional passions were watching classic movies, knitting, and playing pogo on the computer. She was a diehard Washington Redskins fan, not overly happy about their name change, and was the early stages of becoming an Astros baseball supporter. She was a fierce competitor at scrabble and gin rummy and enjoyed making occasional trips to Louisiana to “donate” to the casinos.
Jeanine was pre-deceased by both parents, her husband Dudley Daigle and her son, Randolph Wayne Forbes. She is survived by two daughthers, Linda Forbes Bratsch and Patricia Forbes Bryan and husband Darrell, and a son Dennis Forbes and wife, Melissa, and two stepsons, Michael Daigle and Lee Daigle. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Ashley Bryan, Claire Bryan, Keegan Bratsch & his wife Michaela, Taylor Bratsch and his wife Ashley, Marin Bratsch, Allie Forbes, Angie Klutts and her husband Ben, Traci Forbes, and Kimberly Amezquita and husband Nicolas, as well as six great-grandchildren.
Her request for cremation and a memorial service scattering her ashes will be announced at a later date.
