Jeanmarie DeVillier

Jeanmarie Sylvester DeVillier, 57, passed away Wednesday June 11th, 2014. She was born in Baton Rouge, LA on May 14, 1957, to EJ Sylvester and Kathleen McMillin Sylvester. She graduated from Block High School, attended Louisiana State University and went on to receive a Bachelor of Art at Northwestern State University in 1983, and Master of Education at McNeese State University in 1991. She was married to Robert DeVillier on December 08, 1989. Jeanmarie took pride and put great effort into teaching Special Education in Calcasieu Parish School District in Louisiana, La Porte I.S.D, Barbers Hill I.S.D, and Goose Creek I.S.D. in Texas. She was recognized by Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 2002, 2004-2005, 2005-2006. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially when crawfish was involved. She is survived by her loving husband and step children, Nick DeVillier of Kingwood, TX, Will DeVillier of Lake Charles LA, Krystal DeVillier of Moss Bluff LA; three beautiful grandchildren, Alyssa Michelle DeVillier, Mason Cade DeVillier, and Madison Claire DeVillier. There will be visitation at Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas, Monday June 16th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and the funeral services will be in Jonesville, LA at Young’s Funeral Home, Wednesday June 18th, at 10 am followed by burial in Heard Cemetery in Manifest, LA.Arrangements under the direction of Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, Baytown, TX.
