

Survivors are wife Darlene Capps Barnett; sons and daughter-in-law’s, Brett & Julie Barnett of Palmetto, Florida and Lance & Sharlene Barnett of Mt. Belvieu. Siblings Randy & Judy Barnett of Benjamin, Tx; Dickie & Cathi Barnett of Mt. Belvieu, Tx; Betty Jo Rodgers of Elk City, Ok and Patricia & Dick Culver of Paris, Tx. Grandchildren are Trey Barnett and Randi Barnett of Webster, Tx; Taylor & Kyle Leggett and Paige Barnett of Mt. Belvieu, Tx; David Blumenstock and Emily Lucus of Florida; and two great grandchildren Jameson & Amelie Blumenstock of Florida.
Preceded in death are parents Howard and Naomi Barnett of Baytown.
Jerrel served six years in the U.S. Navy where he became a deep-sea diver. After his service years he moved to Baytown where he met his wife Darlene Capps Barnett and were married for 58 years. He was an active member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church and was director of the Adult 6 department for many years until his health began to fade. Jerrel worked at JM Huber Corp. as an Operations Supervisor for 28 years. He also dedicated 12 years to Goose Creek ISD as a Crossing Guard throughout the school district.
Service will be held at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church 3116 N. Alexander Drive, Baytown on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Visitation will be at 10:00 and the service will follow at 11:00.
Officiating will be Dr. Mark Broussard & Dr. E. Richard Steel.
Pallbearers: Jeffery Capps, Rodney Dickson, Rusty Lamb, Steve Hasley, Kyle Leggett, Bobby Bonds, Mike Easley and John Robinson.
