Jesus Noe Vela

On the evening of Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the age of 75 and surrounded by his family, beloved Pastor Jesus Noe Vela, peacefully took his last breath. Benita Saiz and Crisanto Vela welcomed Jesus Noe Vela into the world and into their lives on July 2nd, 1941. He was born in the town of Robstown, TX and was raised there. Later he met his wife Manuela Vera. The two married on March 23, 1957 and began a family in Kingsville, TX. When Noelia, their eldest daughter was 13, they moved to Baytown, TX. In this new city the Vela family grew as they welcomed 2 more daughters: Noemi and Ruth. In addition to his new and growing family, Noe founded “Templo Emmanuel” and pastored the church until 2014. During his years as pastor and beyond, Pastor Vela lived an exemplary life. He was a mentor to many and a friend to those who needed one. He worked tirelessly, and those who knew him well, admired his dedication to his faith, family and church. His greatest passion was his family. He loved his wife and daughters dearly and treasured every moment he spent with his grandchildren. He was an avid reader who loved to travel. In life he was a beloved pastor, husband, father, grandfather and now his legacy will live on with those whose lives were forever marked by his memory.

Noe is survived by his wife, Manuela Vela; daughters, Noelia Hernandez, Noemi Partida and Ruth Caban; grandchildren, Aurelio, Noe and Isai Hernadez, Eliza and Breana Partida, Josiah, Noah and Aliana Caban; and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob Hernandez.

He was preceded in death by his father, Crisanto Vela; mother, Benita Saiz; brother, Ignacio Rubalcada; and sister, San Juan Lopez.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and service from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Templo Emanuel, 1328 Cherry St., Baytown, TX 77520.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the church from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Chapel of the Chimes Mausoleum with a precession starting at 12:30 pm.
