

She was born in Dawson, TX, February 23, 1927, to Noah and Myrtle Hale. There she met and married Sid Guest in 1947. They made their home in Baytown where they raised three children, Teresa Gail and twins Ronald Kent and Randall Wayne. Together they operated Guest Humble Service Station on North Main Street for many years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was a faithful and devoted member.
Jewell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sid, who passed away in 1994; son, Kent, who passed away in 2000; and daughter, Teresa, who passed away in 2011. She leaves behind her son, Wayne and his wife Becky Phelps Guest of Baytown; son in law, Bob Phillips of Baytown. Grandchildren include Jeff Phillips and wife Traci of College Station; Amy Marshman and husband Lynn of League City; Michael Guest and wife Mandy of Sugar Land; Sarah Guest Haney and husband JoJo of LaFayette, LA; Kayla Guest Utley and husband Joseph of Pharr, TX; Karley Guest of Missouri City, TX, and brother, Wilmer Hale of Tyler, TX. Her great grandchildren include Madeleine, Harrison and Fischer Phillips, Michael Buckley, Madalyn and Matthew Guest, Levi, Parker and ""baby"" Haney due in September, and Adalena and Mason Utley, along with niece Diana Barnett, much beloved cousins, Lena Mae Carver and Barbara Jean Savage, and special friends, Cynthia Rangel and Liz Johnson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. with a funeral service Friday 10 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dawson Cemetery in Dawson, TX at 4 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Phillips, Michael Guest, JoJo Haney, Michael Buckley, Lynn Marshman and Randy Tanner.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation may be made to Central Baptist Church, 1800 King St., Baytown, TX 77520 or charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Swan Manor and Cedar Bayou Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of ""Memaw.""
