

Jim Adrain McLain, Jr., 67, of Baytown, Texas, passed away at his residence, on Monday, May 19, 2026. He was born in Baytown, on July 7, 1958, to the late Jereldine and Jim McLain, Sr. Jim proudly graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School, in Baytown, class of 1976. He went on to make his career as a tugboat captain, where he spent more than 44 years on the water. He was also a business owner for many years. Jim was a proud member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, a non-profit organization.
Jim pursued many interests, some of which included playing poker, fishing, hunting and camping. He was also an avid golfer and could often be found out on the golf course with a group of friends. Jim spent his free time playing World of Tanks with friends on the PC. In his younger days, he enjoyed woodworking and built many pieces for his home while he was out tinkering in the shop. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and would light up a room with not only his presence, but his infectious laugh as well. Above all, his greatest joy came from the time spent with his precious family.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife of 49 ½ years TJ McLain; his son Jeremy McLain and wife Katy; his grandchildren Evan, Grace and Layla McLain; his brother Darrin McLain and wife Suzy; his sister Teresa Garrett and husband Daniel; his sister-in-law Michelle Carr and husband Thomas; his only niece Mickichelle McMinn; and his many furry friends; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, on May 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, on May 29, 2026, at 10:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, on May 29, 2026, at 11:30 am.
