James Herbert Epperson, 82, of Baytown passed on May 12, 2025. Jimmy was born to the late Ishmael and Jean (Chandler) Epperson August 26, 1942 in Thibodaux, Louisiana. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas in 1960 and married his high school sweetheart, Eva Joe Cosio, in 1964. He loved our Lord and was a devoted member of Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church.
His greatest joy was his family. He is best known for his playful sense of humor, being a devoted and loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many. He touched many through the years coaching baseball, serving his church, driving cancer patients to treatments, delivering Meals on Wheels and participating in Relay for Life. He was a man with a real servant heart.
Jimmy was a Maintenance Superintendent at Arco Chemical Company when he retired in 1999.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eva Joe Epperson of Baytown; sons Bo Epperson (Gloria) of Baytown and Richie Epperson (Kendra) of Fischer; 11 grandchildren and spouses and 9 great-grandchildren; sister Gwen Tooke of Baytown; brother Gerald Epperson of Crowley; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 am, Friday, May 23, 2025, at Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church, 3700 N. Highway 146, Baytown, Texas, with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 am.
