Joan Dee Saunders Frieden

Joan Dee Saunders Frieden, 50, passed away April 15 of a lengthy illness at her home. She was born April 14, 1959 in Liberty, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, J. D. and Mattie Jo Saunders and grandparents, Lola Clepper Hayes and Jack and Viola Saunders.

Joan graduated Cum Laude from Robert E. Lee High School in 1979, where she was an honor student and Vice President of the Lee Brigadiers. She graduated with an associate degree in accounting from Lee College in 1981. She continued her education in accounting at the University of Houston at Clear Lake.

Joan will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her loving family: Daughter, Judy Ann Hardin and husband, Patrick, and granddaughter, Taylor Reann Hardin all of Dayton. Sister, Ann Saunders Freeman and husband, Jack, of Houston. Brother, Jack Saunders and wife, Diane, of Baytown. Nephews and nieces include Cullen Freeman of Houston. Lauri Saunders Martin and husband, Chris, of Anahuac. Ryan Saunders and wife, Nina, of Los Alamos, New Mexico and Brooke Saunders of Baytown. Great-niece, and nephews include Krysta & Jason Martin of Anahuac and Sebastian Saunders of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Also surviving is one uncle, Herb Boggess, and wife Lafayne of Baytown. A host of cousins and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, Baytown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the building fund at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church.
