Funeral services will be Sunday, May 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Ray Cates and stepson, Fed McCasland and is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marie Cates of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Bevan and Elaine Cates of Spicewood and Charles L. and Carol J. Cates of Baytown; stepdaughter, Billie Corbett of Somerville; 10 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
