

Joe H. Wheat, Jr., 76, of Baytown was born April 11, 1941, in Houston and passed away peacefully Saturday, April 22, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a former member of the Baytown Kiwanis Club. He retired from Lyondell Equistar with 37 years of service where he held various management positions. Joe was an avid golfer who played all over the world and was most proud of playing The Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland. He had a love for Hot Rods and was very active in the Historic Goose Creek Association for many years, where he organized the Christmas on Texas Avenue Festival and Car Show. He traveled all over the world with his wife Judy and supported her various activities, referring to himself as Judy's driver. He was very active in the Baytown community and he and Judy were recognized this year at the Baytown Chapter American Diabetes Ball. Joe was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps who proudly claimed the title.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe H. and Mozelle Wheat; brother-in-law, Bobby Babin; son-in-law, Robert Regian; and granddaughter, Kristen Rhea Regian. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Wheat; brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Barbara Wheat; sister, Patricia Babin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mark and Jess Meadows and Kenneth and Norma Meadows; children and their spouses, Terry Gene and Sonya Englert, Gary and Diane Englert, Tanya and Wayne Graham, Trina and Milton Saunders, Kelly Regian, and Terri Jo Wheat; grandchildren and their spouses, Adriana and Brian Cramer, Heather Englert, Ashley and Stephen Dugat, Taylor Englert, Jason Saunders, Jeremy and Drea Saunders, Zakery Regian, Seth Regian, Rachel Swift, and Lauren and Jason Bower; and great grandchildren, Hagen, Riley, Crey, Braden, Kiley, Karlee, Kirstyn, Addison, Brock, Cadence, Jakson, Wyatt, Benjamin, Jonathan, and Addie.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Deacon Dan Foley officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Cramer, Stephen Dugat, Zakery Regian, Seth Regian, Taylor Englert, Braden Englert, Crey Wilkinson, and Hagen Wilkinson.
