John Arthur Bishop

Born on October 21, 1936, in Chipman, New Brunswick, Canada, he graduated from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, with his Medical Degree. In 1978, Dr. Bishop moved his family and medical practice to Baytown, Tx. He practiced here from 1978 until his retirement in 1995.

He was buried at Olympus-Lonie Cemetery, February 14, 2005, in Childress, Tx, near his son, Adam’s, ranch.

John Arthur Bishop was predeceased by his father, Gordon and his brother, Gene, both of New Brunswick, and is survived by his mother, Marie of Winnipeg, Manitoba, wife Carolyn of Baytown, sisters Agnes of Winnipeg, and Doris of Canberra, Australia.

He is also survived by his children Rick Bishop (Paula) of Oakwood, Illinois, Patti McAlpine (Ross) of Katy, Tx, Adam Bishop (Amy) of Childress, Tx, Steven Bishop (Ann) of Mountain View, Ca, and Jason Bishop of Baytown, Tx. He is survived by 7 grandchildren; Amanda, Megan, Sarah Lynn, Brandon, Lindsey, Collin and Zoe.

A Memorial Service will be held at Navarre Funeral Home, Baytown, Texas on Saturday, March 19. Visitation will be at 1 PM. Service at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity and Heifer International (heifer.org).
