John Fletcher Hickerson Jr.
May 30, 1943 – January 18, 2021
John Fletcher Hickerson, Jr., 77, of Baytown, TX, passed away January 18, 2021. He was born in Goose Creek, TX on May 30, 1943 to Fletcher and Orlean Hickerson.
He was married to Elizabeth Hickerson for 19 years and 8 months. John had a career in ministry and social work. He was a member of Kiwanis and was involved with AA, NA, and Celebration Recovery. John loved and enjoyed Ministerial work and working with church youth groups.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Fletcher and Orlean Hickerson; his aunts and uncles from both sides of the family and his grandparents from both sides of the family.
John is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hickerson; by his oldest daughter, Amy Gillock and her husband Dustin and their two children Bailey and Cooper; by his second daughter, Abby Iles and her husband George IV and their two children George V and Melanie; by his third daughter, Jennifer Mavity and her children Kathryn and Timothy; by his oldest son, Cory Hickerson and his children Arielle, Andrew, and Aaron; by his second son, Jason Edge. He is also survived by two siblings, his sister Frances Gay Jackson, and his brother Glen David Hickerson and his wife Ruth, along with multiple nieces and nephews, family and friends.

John Hickerson was a man of service to God, his church and his community. Service to others was shown and taught by his parents. John came back to Baytown and his home church to continue seeing to the needs of others. Rest in Peace.

My favorite memory of Dad is also an example of God's love for us. We were @ a theme park around '82. I was 3 and in a tricycle race. I was worn out halfway. Dad walked out there to push me the rest of the way to finish the race...just like God helps us when we can't go on.
