

John H. McCormick, 67, of Baytown was born March 7, 1947, in Clark, TX and passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, in a local hospital. He was a 1966 graduate of Liberty High School and was a U. S. Air Force Viet Nam veteran. He was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, the American Legion Post #323, the VFW Post #5621, and the Air Force Association. He never met a stranger, never left the house without first getting dressed up, and enjoyed eating ice cream, drinking coffee, and watching his granddaughter's activities. He also loved the Lord, never shying away from witnessing about His saving grace.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie McCormick. He is survived by his wife, Patsy McCormick, daughter and son-in-law, Jeana and Dan Blackford, and grandchildren, Courtlyn McCormick and Emily Blackford, all of Baytown; mother, Edna McCormick and sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and David Caruthers all of Livingston; and brother, Harvey McCormick of Waco.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander Dr., Baytown, TX 77520, with Dr. Mark Broussard and Dr. E. Richard Steel officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Moore, Leland Collins, Ben Lambert, Dan Blackford, Rennie Bachelle, Shae Cottar, and Tom Cottar.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Cedar Bayou Baptist Church Building Fund.
