He was raised in Baytown, TX and was a graduate of Lee High School. John loved helping others and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in the Sunday School presidency and as an usher. He was also an Elder in the church. John volunteered for Habitat for Humanity building houses and enjoyed serving others any way he could. As a youth John participated in the Special Olympics where he enjoyed participating in softball, basketball and soccer. John also learned to read later in life and was excited to share this talent with others. John was always happy and loved being with his friends and family. He especially loved his sisters and considered them his best friends. Since being introduced to the Gospel John “pressed forward with a steadfastness in Christ” and endured to the end.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Candy Norris and his grandmother Nelda Mae Wilbanks. He is survived by his sisters Carol Norris and Dawn Laura Norris; Aunts Theresa Castanon and Lorretta Clouse; Uncles Vernon Wilbanks and John Wilbanks; and cousins Lynn, Tammy and Brian Castanon.
The family would like to thank the members of the Baytown Ward for their kind care rendered to John and Carol.
