John Thomas Winemiller, Jr.

John Thomas Winemiller, Jr., 58, of Baytown was born May 4, 1957, in Canton, OH and passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016, in a local hospital. He was a 1974 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. He served his community and generations of area families with pride and integrity as owner and operator of Cedarcrest Cemetery and S. E. Texas Granite. He loved buying and trying out the latest gadgets, even those that didn't work as advertised. John enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, John T. Winemiller, Sr.; grandmother, Audie Mae Kintyhtt; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mamie and Ben Smith; and brothers-in-law, John and Kenny Phillips and Woody Woods. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna Winemiller; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Megan Winemiller; daughter and son-in-law, Chastity and Leslie Newman; daughter, Amanda Winemiller; mother, Elsie Winemiller; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and George Brantch; grandchildren, Avery, Jace, Treyten, and Brantley Winemiller and Mark and Peyton Newman; and nieces, Lisa Ledger and Stacy Cantor.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. John Marlar officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Winemiller, Leslie Newman, Mark Newman, George Brantch, Keith Phillips, and Thomas Sherron. Honorary pallbearers will be Jace, Brantley, Avery, and Treyten Winemiller.
