John Louis Wunsch

He was born January 3, 1929 in Rose Bud, Texas to his late parents, I. B. Wunsch and Panzy Findiesen Wunsch, was a longtime resident of Highlands, a 1947 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church and was an avid bowler and private pilot.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernard Wunsch and Edward Wunsch; sister, Earline Wunsch and a nephew, John Roger Wunsch.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara Wunsch of Highlands; daughter, Stephanie Wunsch Horn and her husband Jamey of Baytown; son, John Mark Wunsch of Highlands; brother, Ruben Wunsch of Crosby; sister, Ruth Stewart of Tomball; grandchildren, Jonathan Wunsch and Heather Wunsch and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Navarre Funeral home with Rev. Arthur Craig and Rev. Dan Mustain officiating. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2009 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Prescott, Jamey Horn, Glenn Barbay, Jonathan Wunsch, Brent Spiller, Scott Barbay, David Barbay and Tom Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be John Wunsch.

The Wunsch family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff of St. James House and Compass Care Hospice for their care of Mr. Wunsch.
