So sorry. Johnnie and I worked together in the mid 70's at the cleaners and became very close.  Was a super friend and a better mentor.  Godspeed Johnnie!

Johnnie was always such a nice guy.  We started school together in 1st grade.  I ran into him a few years ago in Lubbock, still such a nice guy.  He died too young.  I'm sorry he had to suffer.  Sounds like he is rejoicing with Jesus, PTL.  Linda you are in my prayers.

Just heard about Johnnie and wish I could have been with you all at the memorial service in Lubbock today.  I always thought one day James, Johnnie and I would be able to take some time and get together to remember the fun times we had, but the “one day” never seemed to come and will not now.  I am so sorry for your loss and want to offer my condolences to those in Johnnie’s family that I’ve never had the opportunity to meet and especially to Linda and those others like me who were always made to feel that we were part of Mama Bates family.

I worked with Johnnie in the mid '70's  at Mahon Cleaners.  He was a good friend with a great personality.  He always had a smile and a great story or joke to share.  He encouraaged me to finish college, which I did, and I always told him I appreciated this.   I know he will be missed by his family.  My family and I will keep you in our prayers.

JB was my guardian angel many a day at Pollard Friendly Ford.......I am blessed by having known him. Hope you have a golf club in hand and a ""spiffy"" golf shirt to boot ready to tee off on that Great Golf Course in the Sky!!! God is welcoming you with open arms, my friend... You touched so many people with your kindness, your stories and your knowledge of the car business.  Bless your family!

Linda, I am so sorry to hear about Johnnie.  I am so glad he is not in pain any more.  I know you will miss him, but you will see him again, along with all of your family.  My prayers are with you.  You have been the caretaker for your family as long as I have known you.  I know that Johnnie loved you very much!  Love you, too!

Johnnie was a very good man. Would done anything for you and always had a smile on his face.I worked with him for over 8 yrs and always enjoyed being around him.My prayers are with his family now cause I always said a prayer for him everyday.

Johnnie was a great man. He was an amazing dad to me,even though he was my stepdad he treated me like his own. I will miss him very very much!....I love you JB! I am sorry to the rest of his family for the loss.

Johnny was a true friend, played golf with him for many years. My prayers go out to Johnny's family. The many memories of the fun times and laughter, I will have forever. May you rest in peace.

A great man and such a great loss.  We talked often and what a positive attitude he had until he was called home. He will be missed very much by this family.  My prayers are with you all.

I am so sorry for your loss.  My late husband, Doug Dixon, and Johnnie were great friends back in their 20's.  We had alot of fun together.

I knew Johnnie for a while in the car business in Lubbock, Johnnie was a great guy and I will always have happy thoughts of him, his Dallas Cowboys, and Tiger Woods. My most sincere condolences go out to the Bates family and friends. We will miss you Johnnie.

Johnnie, James and Linda were some of my best friends during high school. We had alot of great times together. After college, I moved away and really lost touch with them. Guys, you both will be missed.

Johnnie, his family and I grew up together, and we remained friends through most of his life. We shared church, school, fun times and tragedies together. I loved his mother like my own, and him like a brother. I will miss you Johnnie. I wish we could have talked one last time.
