Jose Silverio Melendez, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones on June 16, 2011. He was born on May 23, 1951, in Los Fresnos, Tx.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Eva Melendez; son, Josue Melendez; sister, Basillia and Antonio Villalobos.

He is survived by his wife, Mari Melendez; son, Moses and Rhonda

Melendez; son, Jose Melendez and Pillar Melendez; son, David and Jennifer Melendez; daughter, Emily and Carlos Urbina; grandchildren, Moses, Jr., Alicia, Bethany, and Joshua Melendez, Adeline, Braulio, Ashley, and Anahi Melendez, Carlos Jr. and Gabriel Urbina; brother, Lorenzo Melendez and his wife Alvina Melendez; brother, Ruben Melendez; sister, Beatrice Padilla and her husband Jose Padilla; brother, Raphael Melendez; sister, Rose Young and her husband Charles Young and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Earthman Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, June 20, 2011, at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
