Joseph Andrew Gigout, Sr, son of Lawrence Gigout and Hazel Carlton, was born June 15, 1924 in Baytown, Texas. He dedicated his life to serving God and his family. He went to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Saviour, March 1, 2019, his greatest goal finally achieved. His home church is Old River Assembly of God.
He was married to Robbie Mae Gigout, the love of his life, on February 21, 1946. Their love never wavered in the “70” years of marriage. Their unfailing love and dedication for each other exemplified the greatest example of the Love of Christ for His Bride. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2016.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Gigout and Hazael Carlton and wonderful in-laws, Rev. and Mrs. C.M.A. Cowey; two brothers, Lloyd Gigout, Carroll Gigout and brother-in-law, Bill Love. His sister-in-law Jackie Gigout. His nephews, Lloyd Michael Gigout and Billy Love. What a reunion took place as he entered the portals of Heaven, reunited for eternity with those he had waited so long to see.
His Godly example will be forever cherished in the hearts of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our hearts are broken for our great loss, but we rejoice in knowing he’s free of physical struggles he has endured. Our loss is Heaven’s gain, but one day soon we will walk those streets of gold hand in hand never to be separated again.
Andrew and Robbie were blessed with two sons, Andy Gigout and wife Brenda, Lynn Gigout and wife Paula, and daughter Cissie Gigout. Six grandchildren: Tonya, Cody, Kaylie, Traci, Lisa and Taylor. Eight great-grandchildren: Blake, Becca, Rilee, Cooper, Maddix, Kamrie, Tyson, and Kinslie. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Love and sister-in-law Barbara Gigout, as well as a great host of family and friends.
